Column Head

The greenhouse column head is a galvanized steel component with a thickness of 2 to 3 mm, mounted at the top of each column using galvanized bolts and nuts. It is considered the most specialized structural element in greenhouse construction, as it connects the column to the arch, gutter, and crop bar. Depending on the position of each column within the structure, a specific type of column head is installed accordingly.

Types of Greenhouse Column Heads

Single-Sided Column Head (Side Post Cap):

The single-sided column head is used to connect the side columns of the greenhouse structure to a single arch. The lower part is mounted on the column, while the upper tubular section interfaces with the arch.

Double-Sided Column Head (Center Post Cap):

The double-sided column head is used in compound or multi-span greenhouse structures and is installed on central columns located between the bays. It features two upper outlets to connect opposing arches. The space between these outlets is semi-circular, allowing the gutter to be bolted onto it securely.
